Today was a day full of smiles and love
it was our day with Ethan.
He's always so happy to see us.
He makes my heart light up.
I was thinking the other day of how excited we get
as our kids get older and more independent and we start to put the baby things away...
like the highchair and toys that find themselves sprawled all over the house.
And one day we look around and our house is very much like it was
And one day we look around and our house is very much like it was
when we first began our family,
only maybe with a bit more furniture or a nicer place to live,
but you know what I mean...the house can certainly get cluttered
when there are children around.
Then one day, you realize how empty the house is
and the fact that everything stays in it's place.
Now I look around and there are toys nicely placed in a basket
in the corner of our living room.
They sit beside a small child's rocker where Woody, Buzz, and a Snoopy doll sit
when the chair is not occupied by one of our precious grandchildren.
I have moved our coffee table to a corner of the living room
because it's made of slate stone and is an accident waiting to happen
when the babies are over.
I went out and bought a cute little area rug for Ethan (and Sarah)
to sit on when them come over.
My house has all hard wood floors which I LOVE
but it's not very comfy for little people who like to sit on the floor and play.
There is also a highchair that stays in the corner of our dining room
and I don't mind one little bit!
It's wonderful to have the signs of little people all around.
