The Sweetest of (Mon)Days

Today was an unusually pleasant Monday

it wasn't crazy, or hectic, 

 and the phone didn't ring off the hook as usual. 

It was sweet because I had Ethan today and I don't usually have him on Mondays

but a schedule change provided the blessing (for me). 

He was in a extra sweet mood, and is rather pleased with himself

for being able to get around the house rather quickly. 

I try not to let him out of my sight, but he is FAST!

I followed him a few times to the bottom of the staircase.

He saw it as a mountain he wanted to climb

so I watched him crawl up some steps. 

I was right there with him, mind you, but he did it effortlessly

and was so proud of himself. 

I think if I would have let him, he would have gone straight to the top

but I decided it would not be a good idea to plant that seed

so I brought him down on the ground floor and put up the baby gate. 

Better safe than sorry. 

He can climb that mountain when he's a bit older.

We had the sweetest day together. 

I played on the floor with him...he loved that.

I actually lied down on his blanket on my stomach

and he thought was so funny that Grandma Dee was down on his level 

he was patting my back and hugging me, then he'd play with his toys. 

I brought down the Fisher Price Circus Train set that his daddy played with 

when he was a boy, and of course there was Woody, only he was missing his hat 

but I had found it upstairs when I went to get the train set. 

He knew right away the hat belonged to Woody 

and he was having so much fun taking the hat off and putting it back on.

Then we watched an episode of Yo Gabba Gabba

and the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, 

and before long it was time for a nap
