The mornings have been really chilly...FINALLY!
It actually seems like fall now.
I've had to put on my snuggly robe in the morning
I don't remember where I bought this or even when
but it's been around for a long time.
Like an old friend, we get reacquainted each year about this time.

The turkeys have been out, too
They come around at certain times of the year.
We've had as many as 30 in our yard at one time.
They are pretty friendly and always looking for food.
Funny thing is...at Thanksgiving you won't see them around
(it's like they know!)

Today is the last day of October, yes - it's Halloween,
but it's also our daughter-in-law's birthday.
You may remember we celebrated it earlier in the month
But today is her actual birthday,
and here she is with one of her best presents ever!
I am so thankful that God has brought her into our family,
and we are so in love with this little boy named Ethan.
Happy Birthday Meagan!

Music Lessons

Today was our day with Ethan
and as usual, Papa did his best to get home early to spend time with him.
Owning your own business has its advantages, that's for sure.
Getting home early was not an option when we were raising our boys.
My husband's previous job made it virtually impossible :0(
So even my husband gets to do "do overs"

Today he took Ethan upstairs to the Music Room and gave him a few lessons

 Ethan loves touching the instruments

 He's especially good with a drumstick :0)
I love this picture because the little boy in the background with the bronzed shoes is Ethan's daddy

He was happy that I was watching
Look at how he crosses his hands on the keys
♥We sure love this little boy ♥

Hoboken, Georgia

Hoboken, Georgia that's where we were.
It is near Waycross, Georgia and not too far from the Florida border.
We arrived on Wednesday, set up camp, and made a quick dinner
then we crashed (meaning we chilled out...BIG TIME!)
We were so exhausted from everything it took to get there.
Slept well, and woke up the next morning to a field full of
Buses
These buses were from all over the SE United States.
Many of them we had seen before at other rallies, some were new to us.

They were new ones and old ones. Many had been converted by their owners.
This one was pretty old. It was originally owned by the Glenn Miller Band.
This one was an ultra-modern one

This one is ours (the Hamster Car came with us)

I put out a scarecrow

I took this picture for our son, the Guitar Player :0)
This park is actually a Blue Grass Park

This is Sammye playing the Dulcimer
There were several musicians who played on Saturday

Now this was really neat.
This was Saturday's breakfast and it's called Omlet in a Bag
You put your name on your bag
then you put in whatever you want in your omlet
then you get a ladle full of egg mixture

you seal the bag tight, and it goes in boiling water for like 10 minutes
This is what it looks like going into the boiling water
and this is what it looks like when it's all done
It was delicious!

Saturday, I had my very first Origami Owl Living Locket Presentation
I told the ladies about it and then invited them up to create their own.
They LOVED it!!! (I sold several!)

Saturday night we had a catered Italian dinner
I volunteered to help serve.
This was Chef Luigi singing a song
(he was actually one of the coordinators of the event)
The evening (in fact the whole rally) was a huge success!

Here are a few more things I really enjoyed...
meeting Tuxedo (a 13 year old Husky)
this flag I saw in front of one of the buses

and this piece of cotton straight off the bush.
I had never seen this up close before. Awesome!

and the Spumoni we had for dessert Saturday night...YUM!

Missing You

Hello, hello...I have really missed writing!
Had no internet where we were so I wasn't able to post
but we really had a great few days away!!!
And my show on Saturday was AMAZING!!!
All I can say is WOW!!!
The roads we traveled going and coming back were beautiful country roads.
Took us about five and a-half hours each way and it was a very pleasant drive.
I caught some pictures when I could

I fell in love with this quaint old church

This was my hubby driving the bus

This is one of my favorite spot while he's driving the bus
(when I need a nap)

This is when we crossed the state line

There is so much more I want to share
but it's late and I'm tired so I'll post more tomorrow :0)

Come Away With Me On A Bus

So today we're heading out, in fact, we are leaving the state
which does not happen very often.
We would love to travel more some day,
but for now we are grateful to get away for a few days.
I'm hoping I'll have internet so I can keep up with my blog
but I'm not sure, so if you don't hear from me
don't lose heart ♥ I'll catch when I return.

I was thrilled when I first heard this song
because it mentions a BUS.
Enjoy!

OOPS

I'm just not even believing I missed posting yesterday...
and it didn't even dawn on me until later in the day today.
I've been trying to get ready for a get-a-way weekend
and if you read my posts regularly
you know what a challenge that always ends up being.
No matter how far in advance I try to get ready,
when it comes down to the few days before it gets extra crazy around here.
This get-a-way is to a Bus Rally in Georgia
and my hubby and I have really been looking forward to it.
I'm really excited (and a little nervous)
because I'll be doing my first official Origami Owl Presentation
for the ladies at this rally, so be thinking of me this Saturday around 2:00pm.

But today was our day with Ethan
We just love this little boy so much!
He had on the cutest shirt this morning

Papa gets so happy when Ethan arrives

He of course had to give him zoom-zoom rides around the house

Milli  follows Ethan around the house all day long...
she doesn't want to miss a thing, consequently, she wears herself out

The day passes almost too quickly, and then it's time for Ethan's mommy to come and get him

Until next week sweet one - Grandma Dee and Papa Love you!

My Plaid Skirt

This morning there was actually a chill in the air and it was so refreshing!
I took out my favorite plaid skirt that I love to wear in cooler weather.
Got myself all ready for church, put the skirt on, went to zip it up
but the zipper would not go up :0(
It was working perfectly fine the last time I wore it.
Even got my husband involved in trying to make it work but it wasn't budging!
So I picked out something else as quickly as I could and we headed out to church.
It was a beautiful service!
Afterward Manny & I grabbed a bite to eat,
made a few stops and then headed home.
One of the stops involved picking up some new sheets I've had my eye on.
One of my sons and his wife gave me a gift certificate for my birthday
and told me to buy whatever I wanted, well -
I really wanted these sheets
As soon as I got home...they went right into the washer and dryer
and now they are all made up on my bed.
Maybe this will encourage me to get to bed at a decent hour tonight...you think?

Two more pictures to end my post for today:

this was that cute angel that Hannah had bought for her sister yesterday
and here are the boys wearing their USF Bulls T-shirts
