Another Hump Day

It's the middle of the week again.
My, my, the days pass quickly anymore.
Today I took mom out.
I had to meet a few customers to deliver their orders.
One lady sent me a Facebook message last night
saying that she was in town for just a few days and wanted to buy a locket.
She said where she is from several hours away, no one has them,
but whenever she comes here, for her work, she sees them everywhere.
So, she wanted to see what I had so she could create her own.
We met at Starbucks. Mom and I took advantage of the situation
and treated ourselves to a frozen coffee :0)
This lady, who use to teach a Bible Study Class I attended when she lived here
was VERY happy with her locket.
She put it right on and said she can't wait to wear it to work when she gets back home.
She is hoping to get LOTS of orders from coworkers
which will turn into a Catalog Party for me
and lots of FREE jewelry for her...YAY!!!
Mom and I wound up at Panera's for lunch,
then I delivered a few more products
then we came home, where I collapsed from the heat.
Not literally, but man was I wore out.
It was 90, but felt more like 120. It was HOT out.
I didn't get to much done when I returned home.
Fixed dinner and had the kitchen cleaned up rather early.
Watched some TV with my hubby
and now I'm ready for bed.
Tomorrow is our day with Ethan.
Have a good night everyone.

A Day With A Friend

Today I spent the day with a sweet friend.
She is fighting Breast Cancer
and today she was scheduled for one of her Chemo Treatments.
She has no family nearby, so each week one of her friends takes her.
She has been scheduled for 16 chemo treatments
and today was the 8th
so she is now half-way through.

She has been a friend of our family's for many, many years.
We first met at church, when our kids were still young and in school.
Our kids are now grown, and life separated us for a time,
but whenever we'd meet up, we would just pick up where we left off.
Do you have any friends like that?

This particular lady is very optimistic...always wearing a smile.
Today she was also wearing a wig, but I couldn't even tell.
She looked so beautiful and her hair looked so natural.
She told me she's as bald as they come underneath that wig but you couldn't tell.

When we arrived at the clinic, she checked in and we waited only a few moments.
Then they called her into the treatment room.
I was allowed to go with her.
There were beautiful quilts that lined the hallway leading to the treatment room.

When we got inside the treatment room they hooked her up to a machine.
First they cleaned her port (which was previously implanted to feed the chemo through)
and then they started to administer the chemo.
There were several chairs in this room
and they were all full of patients, fighting various stages of cancer.
I could tell that many of them were, in fact, bald.
Some had scarves on their heads and others wigs.
They brought books or laptops and were also busy occupying their time.
This is my sweet friend, Linda
The beautiful blanket that keeps her warm during her treatments
was made by one of her sons who lives out of state.
Isn't it beautiful?

My friend slept on and off during her treatment.
She said they give you something to make you very sleepy.
That's why they cannot drive themselves.
They even have to sign a form, that they would NOT be driving
and I had to sign the form, too,
that I was the designated driver for the day.

The time passed by quickly I thought, and certainly for my friend
since she slept some.
After a few hours, this session of chemo was all done.
I drove her home and we stopped off on the way to get something to eat.
Then I took her home where she would sleep the rest of the afternoon.
Please say a prayer for my sweet friend, and for all those fighting cancer.

Monday, Monday

I missed posting yesterday. I'm sorry.
Church was awesome!
Then we ran a few errands.
Came home and my husband got back to work on a project he had started Saturday.
We needed a new shed for the backyard, and it's SO HOT to work outside!
But he got it done.
Then, our oldest son invited us over for pizza and a movie.
And he invited our other son and his family, too.
That makes two Sundays in a row we got to spend with our whole family.
I couldn't be happier!!!!!!
Here are a few pics I snapped...

(I couldn't get these pictures to upload last night.
They are being more cooperative tonight)

A Lovely Day for a Drive

I did a show a bit farther away from home than I usually go
but it was a lovely day for a drive

The sky was so full of beautiful puffy clouds :0)
The show went well and I met more lovely ladies.
On the way home I got to enjoy our awesome car.
How cool is this? It even lights up in our Signature Origami Owl Aqua Color.
Love our Kia Soul :0)

Hope you all have a beautiful Sunday!

TGIF

Wow, it's another Friday.
Today I didn't even put on makeup. I never do that.
Oh well, I kept thinking I was going to jump in the shower and do my hair
and one thing led to another, to another, and so on, and...
well, you know how that goes.
I went over and cleaned mom's place,
washed her hair and changed her sheets,
came back home and did some things here -
mostly answering the phones - all there were going at one time.
YIKES.
Anyway, the day passed quickly.
I did manage to get my hair done.
Manny came home, we ate dinner, I cleaned the kitchen,
and now we are getting ready to watch a movie.

Tomorrow I have a show in another town.
Hope it's a good one.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Days That Make Me Smile

Today was a day full of smiles and love
it was our day with Ethan.
He's always so happy to see us.
He makes my heart light up.

I was thinking the other day of how excited we get
as our kids get older and more independent and we start to put the baby things away...
like the highchair and toys that find themselves sprawled all over the house.
And one day we look around and our house is very much like it was
when we first began our family,
only maybe with a bit more furniture or a nicer place to live,
but you know what I mean...the house can certainly get cluttered
when there are children around.
Then one day, you realize how empty the house is
and the fact that everything stays in it's place.
Now I look around and there are toys nicely placed in a basket
in the corner of our living room.
They sit beside a small child's rocker where Woody, Buzz, and a Snoopy doll sit
when the chair is not occupied by one of our precious grandchildren.
I have moved our coffee table to a corner of the living room
because it's made of slate stone and is an accident waiting to happen
when the babies are over.
I went out and bought a cute little area rug for Ethan (and Sarah)
to sit on when them come over.
My house has all hard wood floors which I LOVE
but it's not very comfy for little people who like to sit on the floor and play.
There is also a highchair that stays in the corner of our dining room
and I don't mind one little bit!
It's wonderful to have the signs of little people all around.
It's one of the most wonderful things...and I am so very thankful!!!
Here is a bit more from our day
This was snack and movie time after his nap
There was no popcorn in that bucket
he likes to wear it as a hat.
Here he was loving on Papa

Cracker Barrel with Momma

Today I took momma to lunch at Cracker Barrel

Look what I parked next to

We split a plate of Chicken Tenders, Carrots, Dumplings, and Coleslaw
and we had some of these
it was DELICIOUS!
Momma couldn't even finish all that was on her plate
so she took it home to eat for dinner.
I think she was saving room for dessert, which was one of these

Ooooh Yeah! It finished the day off real nice!
