Tried to stay busy today...
Manny had a couple of jobs in the morning, then worked on his van.
It needed a brake job.
So I hit the road. I just didn't want to stay home, depressed, in the quiet, empty house.
I met up with one of my team members, a fairly new gal whom I had never met before.
Then I did a little shopping.
Stopped at the grocery store and then the drive thru at Starbucks.
Bought two Grande Frappuccinos...
one for me and one to bring home for Mama.
Manny came home shortly after I did.
Then tonight, we were invited out to dinner by some friends,
actually some Church Family from way back.
It was nice to visit with them.
Then we came home to the quiet, empty house.
No howling, no little nose pressed against the glass of the door
waiting for us to return and wondering where we were.
I realized that this is the emptiest, and quietest our home has ever been
for the past 33 years, because that's when our first son was born.
Since that time, we have always come home to either a child or a dog, until now.
In time it will get better, but right now this stinks!
Last night I updated my profile picture on Facebook
with the picture of Milli in her new form.
There were several "Likes" and a few comments
the one that touched my heart the most was from my sister:
"welcome home Milli........"
That summed it up pretty well.
