Crazy Mondays, Back Porch & Tea

Wow! Today has been a classic, crazy Monday!

I completely understand why the good Lord wants us to rest up before a new week begins.

My day actually started around 2:45 am when my Milli woke me up to go potty outside. 

When I got back into bed it took a while to calm down and fall back to sleep. 

That caused me to oversleep this morning (my hubby, too).

As soon as our feet hit the floor the phone started ringing, and it hasn't stopped all day. 

That is the nature of our business more days than not

and because we like things like electric, water, food, and a roof over our heads 

we must work to afford such comforts, but oh - how I sometimes long for a simpler life!

One day...MAYBE.

And to add to the unending phone calls and deadlines to meet, 

today my keyboard decided to quit working properly :0(

and the drawer that it slides out on was already broken.

But amidst all the craziness of the day

I saw some pictures come through in an email from my niece, Mindy.

She had recently come for a visit (see July 24th post)

and had snapped these pictures while she was here

These are pictures of our back porch and a bridge at the back of our property.
I see these things every day. 

I love our home and the tranquil property it sets on

and for the most part I am very thankful for I know I am very blessed

but the peacefulness my niece captured in these pictures 

made me stop and really look at these familiar surroundings in a whole new way.

It was a "stop and smell the roses" kind of moment in the middle of a completely crazy day!

So, thank you, Mindy!

I'm really glad you felt peaceful while you were here, 

just wish we had sat at that little table in the back porch and sipped on some tea

as you envisioned doing (per your caption beneath that picture).
